Privacy Policy

How Business OS collects, uses, and protects your information.

1. Introduction

Business OS ("we", "our", "us") operates a software-as-a-service platform that helps buyers and sellers compare products, calculate landed cost, and make AI-assisted purchase decisions across Indian marketplaces including Amazon.in, Flipkart, Myntra, and Meesho. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over that information. It applies to all users of our website, dashboard, and APIs.

2. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Account information — name, email address, hashed password, and the plan you are on (Free, Premium, or Business).
Usage information — products you save to your watchlist, target prices, notes, and AI recommendations you request.
Device & log information — IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. We use these to secure the service and diagnose issues.
Payment information — when payments are enabled, billing details are processed by our PCI-compliant payment partner (e.g., Stripe / Razorpay). We do not store full card numbers on our servers.

3. How we use your information

To operate, maintain, and improve the Business OS platform.
To generate AI-powered Buy/Wait/Avoid recommendations tailored to the products in your watchlist.
To send transactional emails such as price-drop alerts.
To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms.
To comply with legal obligations under Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and applicable rules under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

4. Marketplace & affiliate data

Product prices, availability, seller ratings, and images shown in the product comparison views are aggregated from publicly listed marketplace data. Business OS is an independent platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Amazon.in, Flipkart, Myntra, or Meesho. Marketplace names and logos are the property of their respective owners.

5. Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:

With service providers who help us operate the platform (hosting, email delivery, analytics, payments), under confidentiality obligations.
With the AI model provider (Anthropic Claude) — we send only the product and pricing summary needed to generate a recommendation, never your name, email, or contact details.
When required by law, regulation, legal process, or a valid government request.

6. Cookies & local storage

We use a single httpOnly authentication cookie (`bos_access`) to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

7. Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal profile, watchlist entries, and AI request history within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal or tax purposes.

8. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to request a copy of the data we hold about you. You can exercise these rights by writing toprivacy@businessos.app. We respond within 30 days.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including bcrypt password hashing, JWT-signed httpOnly session cookies, HTTPS in transit, and role-based access controls. No system is 100% secure — if we detect a breach that affects you, we will notify you without undue delay.

10. Children

Business OS is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or via an in-app notice at least 15 days before they take effect.
